This is the action plan for Coxhoe Parish Council for the Financial year 2019 to 2020. This Action Plan is to state Coxhoe Parish Council’s priorities for the year.
All other work of the Council such as Health & Safety, Audit and other finance, transparency and record keeping are constant priorities and areas for improvement.
Review dates are September 2019 and March 2020.
The action plan is set out in terms of key objectives and priorities of the Parish Council and is determined at the beginning of the financial year
Open Spaces: Land, Buildings and Community Assets
- Review all land and assets and identify where action needs to be taken
- Continue to support Active Life in Coxhoe, Coxhoe Village Hall and Quarrington Hill Community Centre -Budget £6,000
- Car parking: increase and improve parking in particular Coxhoe Village Hall car park
- Identify and resolve street lighting issues e.g. Quarrington Hill lack of lighting between shop and community
- Improvements to open spaces including wildflower planting
- Improve St Mary’s Churchyard
- Housing particularly suited to older people
- Electricity on Village Greens
- Review and improve Christmas lighting provision
- Aim to work with Cassop-cum-Quarrington and Cornforth Parish Councils on new railway walk, and seek donation of privately owned lands
- Review walks/footpaths and public rights of way around the parish and audit quality of paths
- Inform and engage the community about King’s Wood and investigate options for maintenance
- Make Coxhoe Cricket field available for public use – budget £9,000
- Improve cleanliness in the villages and support Coxhoe and Quarrington Hill Keep Clean Campaigns
- Noticeboards: site noticeboard outside St Andrew’s Church – Budget £950
Neighbourhood and Parish Planning
- Undertake Parish Plan 3 – budget £1,000
- Spread information about the County Durham Plan consultation
Risk General Data Protection Regulations and information Security
- Review security of information
- Implement GDPR requirements
- Training for staff and councillors
- Improve risk reporting
Publicity, Events and Community Engagement
- Provide opportunities for engagement with residents
- Create a list of Parish Council events and provide information about other organisations’ community events
- Provide a fireworks display – budget £8,334 with predicted income of £4,684
- Provide a Remembrance Day Ceremony -Budget £100
- Revisit requirements for Foundation Award
Youth Service
- Continue to develop the Youth Service in Coxhoe and Quarrington Hill
