Coxhoe and Area Community Pantry is open for you to ‘pay as you feel’ for a range of fresh, cupboard, chilled and frozen items. The Pantry is open on Monday mornings and Thursday evenings at Coxhoe Village Hall.

We will always welcome new volunteers to help out with the sessions and some of the other tasks which keep the pantry operating, so please contact us if you are interested in volunteering with our friendly team.

A special thank you this week with it being National Volunteers Week to our volunteers with Coxhoe Cares who continue to provide support for those in our villages who have struggled due to the pandemic. Our wonderful volunteers continue to make weekly phone calls to people for a friendly chat, and do shopping as and when required.

Also a big thank you to all our brilliant volunteers with Coxhoe and Area Community Pantry and Foodbank, working out of Coxhoe Village Hall, to support residents in need and help to reduce food wastage by distributing surplus affordable food.

 

The Parish Council would like to say a special thank you to all the volunteers who have done so much in 2020 and the continued and additional support in 2021.

The Parish Council has received notice from Durham County Council that a poll for the election of Parish Councillors for Quarrington Hill Ward of Coxhoe Parish will be held on Thursday 6 May 2021, between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 pm. Three Parish Councillors are to be elected.

The notice of election, the names, home addresses and descriptions of the Candidates remaining validly nominated for election and the names of all persons signing the Candidates nomination paper, and the situation of polling stations and description of persons entitled to vote thereat, are on the Statement of Persons Nominated, Notice of Poll and Situation of Polling Stations notice provided by Durham County Council.

 

Coxhoe Parish Council has been advised by Durham County Council that there is an uncontested election in Coxhoe Ward of Coxhoe Parish, for the elections which were due to take place on 6 May 2021.

This is because fewer people stood for election than there are Councillor seats.
